  • 551 - Tracii Guns tells us about his favorite pedals, plugins, and pajamas!
Brian, Blake, and Richard are joined by a very special guest this week for Episode 551 of the Chasing Tone Podcast -  Tracii Guns tells us about his favorite pedals, plugins, and pajamas!   Please be aware this episode contains infrequent swearing and drug references - not suitable for minors! This week the guys are pretty stoked to have one of Brian's all-time guitar heroes on the show. Tracii Guns is a legendary LA based guitarist, super talented player, and happens to be the founding member of a couple of huge bands you may have heard of. He also has a vast amount of stories and anecdotes to recount...and they are seriously funny. Brian drills straight into the culture of the Sunset Strip scene of the 1980s as the guys take a "behind the scenes" peek into the LA rock scene of that era. Tracii talks about some of the legendary bands he played alongside when LA Guns first made it, including Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, WASP, and a whole bunch more. Richard looks at the differences between the English and the US Music scene of that period and Tracii has some great insights and a mutual love of some classic British bands.Blake asks about the early days of Grunge and how that changed the direction of rock and Tracii gives us a candid and hilarious take on how that played out and what it meant for the musicians of the time. Tracii then tells us how Brian helped him through an existential rig crisis and you might be surprised by the fixes they came up with.http://www.lagunsmusic.com/ The Nigels, The Rock Sock, Kid Creole, Steve Vai, Rockman stories...it’s all in this week’s Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Course, Merch and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Find us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: [email protected] the show

Blake is away at NAMM and so Brian and Richard take the reigns and discuss the important matters of the day including the newly / nearly completed space in Brian's barn. Richard complains about guitar straps. He also ascertains that foam is not rocket science. Brian is mortally wounded by something Richard says and has strong words with him. • 548 - Everything you wanted to know about NAMM but were too afraid to ask with John Mlynczak
Brian, Blake, and Richard are joined by NAMM President John Mlynczak for Episode 548 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Everything you wanted to know about NAMM but were too afraid to ask... The guys welcome a very special guest this week - John Mlynczak, president and CEO of NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) - and he gives us an in-depth and candid history of his involvement with NAMM and what that actually entails. We all know about the show (that Richard will never be allowed to go to) but NAMM stands for so much more for the music community. John gives us a fascinating breakdown of his personal musical and work history, how he landed the job, and just how many hats he wears. We couldn't have recorded this episode without discussing the tragic fires that are currently raging in LA. John gives a passionate and emotional response about what the fires mean for the show, what they mean for the wider community, and what NAMM are doing to help. He also confirms exactly what the situation is with regards to the show this January so if you have read any rumors, and are unsure about what's going on, John sets everything straight. Finally we ask some of those difficult questions that you always wanted to know about NAMM. Will the noise police be there? Will Brian be forced to sit next to the cymbals for 3 days straight? Will Blake eat his entire bodyweight in barbecued meat? Yes to all three - maybe! The British King of Fuzz gets dealt a serious blow and there is much laughter. This is a very special episode and we would like to thank John and his team for helping to set this up. If you are going to the show you will find Wampler pedals represented at the Boutique Amps stand!Nobody needs trumpets at 9:30am, PreSonus, Captain NAMM, Public day, Brian's insomnia...it’s all in this week’s Chasing Tone!NAMM Foundation website - Donate here to help the LA communityhttps://donate.nammfoundation.org/give/655087/#!/donation/checkout We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Course, Merch and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Find us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: [email protected] the show

A video comparing every current Wampler drive pedal has been put up on YouTube and the guys discuss it.Richard built a guitar over Christmas by taking a Squier donor and it didn't go quite according to plan so he tells us about it in quite a bit of detail.
