Charlie Vidal's Ombudsman Report delivers a thorough flogging: forgetting Sean Avery on the Rangers personality Mount Rushmore is declared inexcusable and Joe and Eric agree. Then: the NHL Draft, where San Jose taking a defenseman at two could set off a chain reaction, Vancouver likely locks up Caleb Malhotra at three with Manny now coaching the team, and Joe makes the case for Viggo Björck while Eric remains skeptical the Rangers reach for him at five. Episode 86 of Blueshirt Bandwidth has Eric back after a week away, and the boys have plenty to chew on. The Mount Rushmore of Rangers personalities kicks things off , and the Ombudsman Report dings Joe for calling Colorado "a wagon that's going to steamroll the East" as they're on the verge of being swept by Vegas (when this is recorded). Then the real stuff: John Tortorella is now in the Stanley Cup Final as an interim head coach after getting fined $100,000 and costing Vegas a second-round pick for skipping a mandatory press conference, and Joe and Eric cannot find a single note. Brett Howden is on a playoff tear but it's a black swan event, and the revisionist Rangers history needs to stop. MSG Holdings is separating the Rangers and Knicks into distinct entities. Will Dolan even still own the Rangers in five years? The Knicks are running the best 11-game stretch in NBA history, the order of New York's #11s gets settled (Brunson, Messier, Simms), as well as which coach's seat is hottest going into next year.
