    299. What It Means to Be Good at Relationships

    30.09.2026 | 43 Min.
What does it actually mean to be good at relationships? You might think it means getting along with everyone, avoiding conflict, or being the person everyone can rely on. But sometimes those things come at the expense of speaking up, expressing what you need, and letting other people experience the real you.

In this episode, I'm exploring the ideas many of us have absorbed about what good relationships are supposed to look like, particularly when we've been socialised to be agreeable, accommodating, and responsible for keeping everyone else happy. Drawing on my own experiences and years of coaching, I'm sharing seven things I believe it means to be good at relationships and the skills that can help you put them into practice.

    298. Dismantling Thoughts That Are Holding You Back

    23.09.2026 | 22 Min.
What thoughts have you repeated so many times that you've stopped questioning whether they're actually true? Some thoughts can sound so reasonable and factual that we barely notice them, yet they can quietly shape how we feel, what we do, and what we believe is possible for us.

In this episode, I'm taking on some of the automatic thoughts I hear most often from my clients and exposing the assumptions underneath them. From believing you're behind or not doing enough to questioning whether you're ready, I'm showing you why these seemingly factual thoughts deserve a closer look and what can happen when you stop automatically believing them.

Listen in to learn how to spot the thoughts that may be holding you back and bring them into the light. You'll discover how to interrogate the stories your brain offers you, recognise when perfectionism and self-worth are shaping your thinking, and decide which thoughts you actually want to keep.

    297. Goal Disappointment and the Arrival Fallacy

    16.09.2026 | 21 Min.
Have you ever achieved something you really wanted, only to wonder why it didn't feel as good as you thought it would? We can spend months or even years working towards a goal, expecting that reaching it will change how we feel about ourselves or our lives. Then we get there, the initial excitement fades, and we're left wondering, is that it?

In this episode, I'm exploring goal disappointment and arrival fallacy, the belief that achieving a particular goal will finally make you feel happy, fulfilled, confident, or enough. I look at why we become so attached to external markers of success, how perfectionism and self-worth can intensify this cycle, and what changes when you start paying attention to who you're becoming along the way.

Listen in to discover how to pursue meaningful goals without relying on the end result to change how you feel about yourself. You'll learn why celebrating your progress matters, how to recognise everything you're gaining through the process, and what it means to arrive within yourself rather than waiting for an achievement to get you there.

    296. Future Focus and How Far Ahead to Look

    09.09.2026 | 15 Min.
Do you ever find yourself so focused on what is happening right now that you lose sight of where you are going? In this episode, I'm exploring what it means to be future-focused and how far ahead you need to look in order to stay effective while still responding to what is happening in your life today.

I talk about how stress and overwhelm can pull your attention towards whatever feels most immediate, making it harder to see beyond the problem in front of you. I also explore why having a vision, destination, or goal gives you a sense of direction, and how to hold that bigger picture while bringing your attention back to the next part of the road you actually need to travel.

By the end of this episode, you'll have a clearer sense of where to place your focus when you are working towards something that matters to you. You'll be invited to notice whether you are looking too closely at today's problems or too far into the future, and consider what the right point just ahead of you looks like so you can keep moving forward.

    295. Choosing Precision Over Perfectionism

    02.09.2026 | 19 Min.
Do you tend to think of perfectionism as a sign that you care about doing things well? In this episode, I'm returning to the topic of perfectionism, the many ways it can show up, and how it can hold you back through procrastination, self-criticism, fear of mistakes, and the exhausting cycle of high achievement and burnout.

I explore why messy, imperfect action can be such an effective way to challenge perfectionist tendencies by helping you get started, experiment, and build your tolerance for mistakes. I also introduce another approach: choosing precision over perfectionism, and focusing your attention on being clear and specific about what actually matters rather than trying to get everything exactly right.

By the end of this episode, you'll have several ways to approach perfectionism differently. You'll be invited to get precise about what you want, define your goals and priorities clearly, focus on the next step in front of you, and set expectations that reflect the energy and capacity you actually have while remaining flexible about how you get there.
