Introducing... Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemason!

    20.09.2026 | 38 Min.
Hello! We’re gradually recovering from our live show, and in the meantime wanted to share a show by some good friends of ours. Good Pointe Podcasts create a whole bunch of shows we love, including Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemason - starring DAX, AKA Jack Carmichael!

Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemason is a satirical dark comedy about secret societies and conspiracy culture. Randy Dunning and Gayle Kruger will do anything to make the next great viral video. They’ll even kidnap a Freemason and keep him locked in their basement until he tells them what the masons are really doing behind closed doors.

As well as our very own Jack Carmichael, Two Flat Earthers stars a whole host of audio drama talent, including Zane Schacht from Less is Morgue, Lauren Grace Thompson from The Harbingers, Matthew Woodcock from The Monster Hunters and Addison Peacock from The NoSleep Podcast.

Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemason was written, edited and created by Jeremy Ellett of Good Pointe Podcasts, and on the same feed you’ll find several other amazing dark comedies like Christmas Diner and The One Stars (which is also a big favourite of ours!).

Listen on for the first episode of Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemason! And if you want to subscribe, you can find it wherever you get your podcasts.

    Introducing... Mockery Manor!

    24.08.2026 | 26 Min.
Hello! I’m here today to introduce you to a podcast I love: Mockery Manor. Created by Lindsay Sharman and Laurence Owen, Mockery Manor is a mystery thriller set in an 80s theme park.

(Coincidentally, we’re also both performing at London Podcast Festival on the 6th September, so you can come and see both of us in a single day!)

Mockery Manor follows twins JJ and Bette as they find themselves embroiled in a series of bloody and increasingly personal murders. It’s a show that really scratches that deep-lore itch, and if you’re a theme park fan, there are references galore. Whether you’re travelling on the Heart of Darkness River Adventure in Empireland or eating at the Unidentified Frying Objects Diner in Roswell, Mockery Manor has it all. And by all, I do mean a rapidly increasing body-count.

And, of course, each land has its own theme music and scores, lovingly composed by Laurence Owen, and the music the characters listen to throughout is all original - although some of it seemed so familiar it had me googling!

Mockery Manor Season 4 begins releasing today! There are three seasons out already but much like Space Junk, it’s best if you start with episode one. You can find and listen to Mockery Manor in all the usual podcast places (except Spotify).

    Thanks, and enjoy!

    Introducing... The Strata

    10.08.2026 | 35 Min.
    Hello!

I’m dropping in to introduce an audio drama that’s been going for some time: The Strata, by Mark R Healy. Set in a sprawling, dystopian metropolis in a sci-fi future, The Strata follows Rust, an ageing mechanically-augmented courier forced into business with an underworld ganglord in order to pay for treatment to keep his rapidly-failing body alive.

He narrates his tale in a manner that is pure film-noir and as a fan of flawed protagonists, I enjoyed following his story. Rust as a narrator is one part Reacher, one part Philip Marlowe, with a little Ron Perlman thrown in there for vocal tone. Episode one starts as his mostly-robotic body is starting to fail, and he’s growing desperate; but how far is he willing to go to stay alive?

Listen on for Episode One of The Strata, and you can find The Strata anywhere you listen to podcasts!

    Introducing... Jack Valentine, Vampire Detective

    05.08.2026 | 41 Min.
Hello! Before I introduce you to my dear friend Jack, a quick reminder that if you’re about on September 6th we’re doing a live show at the London Podcast Festival as part of Audio Drama Day! We’re on at 2:30 and tickets are just £16! This may well be our last live show - and will definitely be our last one for a long while - so if you want to see us on stage, now’s the time!

    And now, on to Jack!

So while we were working on season 4 we were also, behind the scenes, working on a whole new show. Introducing: Jack Valentine, Vampire Detective, by Josie Jaffrey.

A prequel to her Jack Valentine book series, Jack Valentine Vampire Detective follows Jack Valentine, a detective with the Seekers, a vampire police force operating in Oxford, as she deals with a series of grisly murders that seem a little too familiar…

It’s directed by Jen Sugden of Victoriocity and recorded, sound designed and mastered by us here at Battle Bird Productions, with a theme tune by the one and only Hedley Knights. It features Grace Kelly Miller from No Small Rolls as Jack alongside a whole host of other voices, some new and some you’ll definitely recognise.

It’s available on all podcatchers and there are five episodes ready for you to sink your teeth into!

Listen on for episode one: Dead Man’s Hand!

A Couple of Quick Announcements... (Including Live Show!)

    29.07.2026 | 2 Min.
    Hello!

We hope you enjoyed listening to Season 4 (or as some of the cool kids are calling it, Season 7). It was a real labour of love and we're so glad it's finally out in the world.

We're here with a couple of quick announcements!

First, we're going to be doing a live show! We're back at London Podcast Festival for Audio Drama Day on the 6th September at 2:30pm. We're in a bigger venue than usual which is a little daunting, but we're looking forward to it! We'll have our core cast plus some special guests, including the wonderful Layla Katib from Victoriocity!

Other shows that day include An Audience with Magenta and Bernard, Camlaan, Audio Drama Done Quick and Headliners Wooden Overcoats, so a chance to see a whole host of Audio Drama Royalty!

Tickets for our show are just £16 and we'll be about afterwards with merch, so come say hi! You can find a link for tickets in the show notes!

The second thing is that we're going to be taking a formal break from We Fix Space Junk now Season 4 is out.

The reason it took so long to bring Season 4 out in the first place was because we're both incredibly burnt out and we need time and space to recover. We've been working on Space Junk alongside full-time work for the last eight years - and even when we've not been actively working, it's still been lurking at the top of our to-do piles and was never far from our thoughts. And that can take a bit of a toll.

The thing about burnout is that it sucks all the joy out of the things you love doing, and we don't want Space Junk to become something we resent. We deserve time and space away from the show and you deserve a show made by people working at their best.

So We Fix Space Junk is going to go on formal hiatus for a year. I'm going to start working on scripts for Season 5 in July next year with a refreshed brain, fresh ideas and the enthusiasm to make the next season of a show we love.

In the mean time, we're going to be working on some other creative projects, so keep your eyes out for those.

So, we hope to see some of you in September at our live show and for the rest - Kilner and Samantha will be back!

Buy live show tickets at https://www.kingsplace.co.uk/whats-on/podcast/we-fix-space-junk-2/ or on the Kings Place website!

Über We Fix Space Junk
'We Fix Space Junk' follows seasoned smuggler Kilner and reluctant fugitive Samantha as they travel the galaxy, dodging bullets and meeting strange and wonderful beings as they carry out odd jobs on the fringes of the law. A female-led sci-fi comedy sitcom set in the far future, in a high-tech, dystopian world, We Fix Space Junk draws on the sci-fi of the past, following in the footsteps of Harry Harrison and of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Equal parts love-letter to sci-fi and satire of the present-day, Space Junk is lovingly produced by Beth Crane and Hedley Knights of Battle Bird Productions.
