The Busker (Malta 2023) with JP

 
Interview with The Busker (Malta 2023):  The Malta Eurovision Song Contest is the National Final to select that song that will be representing Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest. The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 was hosted hosted by Keane Cutajar, Destiny Chukunyere (who won Junior Eurovision 2015 and represented Malta in Eurovision 2021) and Gaia Cauchi (who won Junior Eurovision 2013). The Semi Final with 18 artists took place on Thursday, 15 Jan 2026 followed by the Grand Final on Saturday, 17 Jan 2026 from MFCC (Malta Fairs and Convention Centre). Aidan won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "Bella" and represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria coming 18th.

At the event's televised Red Carpet Event on TVM Radio International had the pleasure to once again meet Malta Eurovision entrans 2023 - The Busker who represented Malta with the Song "Dance (Our own party)" which came 15th in Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Interview with Stefan Galea (MESC 2026): The Malta Eurovision Song Contest is the National Final to select that song that will be representing Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest. On the show this week listen back to an interview the Radio International Team did in Malta with Stefan Galea who took part in the Malta Eurovison Song Contest five times. Stefan first took part in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2009 with the song "Shake up, Wake up". He is a five-time contestant in the Maltese selection for the Eurovision Song Contest: participating in 2016, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 respectively with his entries "Light Up My Life", "Heartbreaker", "Numb", "Lablab (Talk Talk)" and "Pose". He was also a contestant on the first season of X Factor Malta. Unfortunately, in 2026 he did not qualify for the Grand Final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest from the Semi Final with the song "Pose". The Radio International Interview Team were on location in Malta and conducted interviews with all the artists and this week listen to the interview with Stefan Galea. 

 


Patrick Jean and Scarlet (Melodifestivalen, Sweden) 

Interview with Scarlet and Patrick Jean (Melodifestivalen):  Also Scarlet as well as Patrick Jean were  part of LondonHagen 2026 performing their Melodifestivalen entries to an international audience. JP and Salman had the pleasure to meet and interview both ladies from Scarlet and Patrick Jean in London in the run-up to the show in the evening. Patrick Jean is not only a singer but also a successful songwriter in Sweden and is behind The Mama's Melodifestivalen Winner "Move". In the 2026 edition of Melodifestivalen Patrick entered with "Dusk till Dawn" 
Scarlet have been participating in Sweden's Melodifestivalen twice. In 2024, Scarlet debuted at Melodifestivalen with the song "Circus X" which advanced from the Heat to Final Kval where it reached fourth place but only  the Top 2 advanced. But then their 2025 offering "Sweet n' Psycho" made it to the Grand Final of Melodivfestivalen 2026 and reached Number 7 at the end of the voting.

Red Sebastian (Belgium 2026) at LondonHagen 2026



Interview with Red Sebastian (Belgium 2026):  LondonHagen 2026 took place earlier on in April in London over two days with the participation of Stars of Eurovision Song Contest and National Finals and beyond.  This week listen to an interview the Radio International Interview Team did with Red Sebastian who represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "Strobe Lights" ending up at Number 14 in Semi Final 1.

Interview with Ericka Jane (DMGP 2026):  Also Ericka Jane was part of LondonHagen 2026 performing her runner-up song at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 -  "Death of Me" to an international audience. Ericka Jane took part in the Danish National Final 2026 coming second to Soeren Torpegard Lund who won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 and with that also the right to represent Denmark at Eurovision, JP had the pleasure to meet and interview Ericka Jane in London in the run-up to the show in the evening. Interviews with the Eurovision Legends of Malta:  On 10 Jan 2026 the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 took place earlier in the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre (MFCC) in Ta'Qali, Malta. Aidan won this contest and represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna with the song "Bella" coming 18th. In the afternoon of the Grand Final in Malta a Red Carpet Media Event took place and former Maltese Eurovision personalities also appeared and Radio International's JP took the chance and have chats with as many of the Maltese Eurovision Legends such as Claudette Pace (Malta 2000) - "Desire", Julie and Ludwig (Malta 2004) "On again...Off again", Moira of Chris and Moira (Malta 1994) "More than Love", Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012) "This is the Night", Olivia Lewis (Malta 2007) "Vertigo", Aidan (Malta 2026) and Show Host Moira Delia, just to mention a few. Last week Radio International broadcast the interviews with Aidan, Claudette Pace, Julie and Ludwig and Moira of Chris and Moira. Eurovision Weekend 2026 - The FanVision Song Contest:  Last weekend 17 - 19 Jul 2026 the Eurovision Weekend 2026 happened in the Bavarian City of Munich in Germany with 14 delegations from the OGAE Network flew in to take part at the FanVision Song Contest 2026 which is just like the Eurovision Song Contest with songs competing for the trophy and the right to host the following Eurovision Weekend. This year the Victory went to the delegation from Poland and their act called United by Gyros and their interpretation of the song that came 6th for Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 called "Alcohol is free" performed by Koza Mostra feat. Agathonas Iakovidis. Below see the results of the FanVision Song Contest 2026.



Radio International was on location in Munich and had the pleasure to chat to the three artists who form United by Gyros and won for OGAE Poland the FanVision Song Contest 2026. Listen to the interview on the show this week.
