Eurovision Winner Lordi (Finland 2006) with JP in Vienna, Austria
Interview with Eurovision Winner Lordi (Finland 2006): It was in 2006 when the Eurovision Monster Lordi won the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song "Hardrock Halleluja". Eurovision celebrates 70 whereas Lordi celebrated 20 years after the Eurovision Victory and he did that in Vienna with his supporting monsters being part of the brilliant Interval Act in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2026. JP had the big pleasure to interview Lordi once again after 20 years in Athens. Listen to this chat on the show this week. Lordi delivered some great news in regards with Johnny Logan, who won Eurovision in 1980 and 1987 for Ireland as singer and in 1992 as songwriter.
Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria 2017) in Vienna at Eurovision 2026
Interview with Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria 2027): The best-ever result of Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest was until 2025 the entry from Kristian Kostov who in 2017 reached second place with the song "Beautiful Mess". Portugal had won that particular Eurovision Song Contest with Salvador Sobral and the song "Amar pelos dois". Kristian was in Vienna at the Eurovision Song Contest as being part of the 70 year celebration of the Eurovision Song Contest and performed as part of the interval act bring luck to Dara as she won the 70th Eurovision Song Contest for Bulgaria with the song "Bangaranga". JP had the pleasure of an update interview with Kristian in the Media Centre of Eurovision 2026 which you can hear on this week's edition of Radio International.
Monroe (France 2026)
Interview with Monroe (France 2026): During the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 the newest member of the Radio International Team, Johannes, went to the French Embassy to interview the Musical Ambassador to France and the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - Monroe. She performed the song "Regarde" which ranked 11th in the Grand Final at the end of the voting sequence. ESSYLA (Belgium 2026)
Interview Clip with ESSYLA (Belgium 2026): Belgium successfully qualified for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with ESSYLA and her entry entitled "Dancing on the Ice" reaching Number 21 with 36 points. The Interview Team of Radio International met the singer at the Turquoise Carpet for a quick update chat you can hear on the show this week.
The Eurovision Spotlight - The Magic Letter Game: As summer has officially arrived on the northern hemisphere of the globe it means that it is also time for the summer feature for the next few weeks. The summer feature is the Magic Letter Game involving Eurovision Songs which you will be presented by the Radio International Team of Experts :). Dermot Manning is starting the brand new series and will explain the Rules of the Game. :)
Kirsti Sparboe (Norway 1965, 1967 and 1969)
Tribute to Kirsti Sparboe (Norway 1965,1967, 1969): Late last week the Eurovision Community learned that one of Norway's Eurovision entrant has passed away at the age of 79. Kirsti Sparboe represented Norway not one, not twice but three times in the 60s. In 1965 she reached 13th with the song "Karusell", then in 1967 almost won the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria with the song "Dukkermann" coming 2nd. In 1969 she returned with the song "Oj,oj,oj,sa glad jeg skal bli" coming 16th. Kirsti Sparboe passed away on 19 Jun 2026. Radio International has prepared a special tribute to Kirsti. Rest on Peace!
