  • FCTC Classic Episode 1 - Man of Steel Issues 1 and 2
Welcome to From Crisis to Crisis Classic! Because of the original feed getting lost due to financial considerations I (Michael) decided to start representing them on this feed to give them a new home since people still seem to be finding them.  Note before listening...check out the original release date below if you hear something that sounds kind of off or doesn't align with the social norms of today. Or if the audio quality isn't up to snuff of what you'd hear from this show today. These epsiodes are represented as they were first released. No editing. No George Lucas style revamps. I'm doing this mainly because I want to retain the original feel of the episodes and also because...well, I'm lazy. Episode 1 - Man of Steel issues one and two Original Release Date - May 12, 2009 This is the one that launched the whole thing. Fun fact, Jeff and I had never actually spoken until we recorded this episode. I was only two years into my podcasting career, so I was still finding my voice and Jeff hadn't quite figured out his audio, which is why he sounds like he does. As you read above, this issue covers the first two issues of Man of Steel, the series that started the entire Post Crisis era! After a little bit of background info on the creation of the series Jeff and I get into the nitty gritty and explore the first two issues of the series.  Experience or re-experience the final days of the Post Crisis Krypton, how the Kents found the baby Clark Kent, Clark beginning to discover his origins, Superman's first appearance, the first meeting with Lois Lane, Superman's first days in Metropolis and how Clark got the job at the Daily Planet.

  • Episode 270 - The Honeymoon
Welcome to the two hundredth and seventieth episode of From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years: A Superman and Lois Podcast!  This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. The nuptials are out of the way, so it's time for Mike and Jeff to talk about Lois and Clark's honeymoon! Things start out normal enough...at least normal for Lois and Clark...with the reception followed by a trip to Hawaii in Adventures of Superman #541. Then a supposed monster starts tearing up the place and Superboy shows up and Lois lies but doesn't lie about being a member of the Special Crimes Unit. Things really go pear shaped when Clark is shot at the end of the issue and kidnapped, leaving an angry Lois behind to save the day. Then, in Action Comics #728, Clark finds that his kidnapper is none other than Mister Naga, brother to the man Lois caused to be locked up in the wedding album. It seems that Lois has something that Naga wants back. Clark thinks back to a time when he was in a similar situation as Superman, which allows the creative teams to actually have a costumed Superman with powers show up during this storyline. Finally, in Superman: The Man of Steel #63 it's Lois to the rescue as the honeymoon comes to an action packed and explosive end! Podcast promos played during this episode include: -The Amazing Spider-Man from the Beginning, hosted by Andrew Leyland - The Campus Comics Cast, hosted by Mike, Scott and Shad - DCOCD, hosted by Paul and Mike - JSA in the 90's, hosted by The Irredeemable Shag The From Crisis to Crisis theme is by Lucian Desar. • Episode 269 - The Wedding
Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-ninth episode of  From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  Actually…that's not true anymore. Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-ninth episode of From Crisis to Crisis – The Married Years: A Superman and Lois Podcast! That's right. Now that Mike and Jeff have reached the actual, factual wedding (and now that the official feed for the show is changing) they felt that a change in title was in order. The show hasn't really changed. In fact, the numbering is the same, but something had to be done to mark that this momentous occasion has happened. This podcast still has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. This is it, folks! Finally…Lois and Clark get hitched! Well, not right away. First Mike and Jeff have to talk about Superman #118, which is the issue right before the wedding. Lois Lane is in on the trail of a drug dealer and meets someone that takes her on a quest that leads her to realize that maybe she still has feelings for Clark. Meanwhile, Superman still doesn't have any powers and does some tests to see why that is. During the test Superman gets a pep talk from Wonder Woman. Then, in Superman: The Wedding Album #1, the very first Triangle Era Special, Lois and Clark reunite and after a tense conversation the engagement is back on and it's all about planning the ceremony. It's an all-star effort on the creative side and the boys cover the bachelor party, the bridal dinner, Lois picking out her dress, the search for a new apartment, the rehearsal dinner, Sam Lane acting like a jerk, and then…FINALLY…the wedding ceremony itself. After that, Mike and Jeff discuss the third episode of season four of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman titled Swear to God, This Time We're Not Kidding. It's the television wedding of Lois and Clark and the coverage of this one is much more positive than the last episodes of Lois and Clark. The boys even go easy on the "villain" of the episode. The From Crisis to Crisis love theme is by Lucian Desar. Other music in this episode includes Wagner Bridal Chorus Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com, Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License), and Wedding Music and Wedding Romantic, both by Paul Yudin via Pixabay. Those books include Superman: The Man of Steel Annual #5, Superboy and the Ravers #3, Showcase '96 #10, Steel #32, and Justice League: A Midsummers Nightmare #3. Episodes discussed are The Last Son of Krypton Parts 1 thru 3, Fun and Games, A Little Piece of Home, Feeding Time, and The Way of All Flesh. For grins, they end their animated talk by chatting about the first issue of the tie-in comics Superman Adventures. Finally, they discuss Lord of the Flys and Battleground Earth, which are the first two episodes of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Season 4. • Episode 267 - The Mike Carlin Interview
Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-seventh episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. This time out Mike and Jeff finally...FINALLY get to sit down with former Superman editor and architect of the Triangle Era of Superman Mike Carlin and talk with him about his time with the Man of Steel. The boys talk with Mike about how he got into Superman, his early days working for Marvel, how he came to edit the Superman titles, how the Triangle method of storytelling came about, the Death and Return of Superman and so much more. Mike was very generous with his time and both Mike (the host Mike that is) and Jeff appreciate that he took the time to speak with them. Plus! Über From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years (A Superman and Lois Podcast)

In 2009, Michael Bailey and Jeffrey Taylor joined forces to start From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast. The show (which originally had a five year mission and that...didn't happen) had a simple premise...cover the Superman comics published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 and Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006. And with many breaks and hiatuses they did that. Now they've gotten to the point where Lois and Clark have gotten married, so for a variety of reasons they are changing the name of the show (but not the numbering...Jeff put his foot down on that) to reflect this new era. So, join Mike and Jeff as they go through the married era of the Post Crisis Superman. From the wedding to Electric Blue! From Superman Rex to Y2K! From President Lex to Ending Battle! From For Tomorrow to Infinite Crisis! From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years will cover it all!
