It shows appreciation for the commitment and sacrifice that the spouses of service members make, together with the rest of the family, while they’re away on the mission to defend the country. Military spouses have to make quick adjustments to new environments, and having to learn new survival skills with the frequent and often unexpected developments that sometimes require them to move halfway across the country or even the world. National Military Spouse Appreciation Day is important because it strengthens the commitment of servicemen and women, assuring them that their family is being appreciated and celebrated while they are away.

The baking of cakes in cups — due to the lack of what today we call muffin tins. On average, every year in the U.S. 800 million cupcakes are consumed! Cupcakes are so popular now about 13% of brides choose to serve cupcakes instead of a wedding cake at their reception.

What sounds like a day to be grumpy, is quite the opposite. By kicking the grumpy mood to the curb...you get to spend a day full of happy vibes. Are you out of your favorite breakfast cereal? Put some peanut butter on a waffle. In a long line? Strike up a friendly conversation with the person next to you, you could make a friend. Find the silver linings today because there always is one. Stress is one of the leading causes of health problems in America so prioritize your happiness today..and tomorrow...and so on.

News; would you rather move or land an airplane?; would you rather have/watch (1) 3 minute commercial or (6) 30 second commercials?; goodbye/fun facts....National Crepe Suzette Day...There are several origin stories of how this French delicacy got it's name...according to the most cirulated culinary legend...the treat was accidentally created in 1895 by Henri Charpentier, then a 15-year-old assistant waiter working at Monte Carlo’s Cafe de Paris. He was cooking for Prince Edward of Wales and his distinguished guest — a French noble dame named Suzette. He inadvertently ruined a sauce for the crepes, but then realized he had made a tasty new dish. The prince decided to name it “Crepe Suzette.” Crepe Suzette consists of a crisp, thinly rolled, or folded pancake and a sauce made from caramelized sugar and butter, and either tangerine or orange juice, and French liqueur like Grand Marnier.

News; game: calendar trivia; most overrated U.S. tourist attractions; goodbye/fun facts....Sun Awareness Week...takes place in the first week of May. It signals the start of the summer-long Sun Awareness Campaign which centers around teaching people about skin cancer, as well as informing them about how to increase their protection when they step out into the sun. Since ancient times, the world has understood that the sun provides warmth, life, and vitality.  The discovery of ultraviolet light is attributed to a German physicist, Johann Wilhelm Ritter, who noticed that the invisible rays in the spectrum of lights at the violet end were very effective at darkening silver chloride-soaked paper. As time went by, more and more scientists reported adverse reactions to U.V. rays. By the end of the 19th century, studies were published that proved people working outdoors were more prone to skin cancer....so if you're out in the sun...make sure you use SPF.
