Enthüllungen - Der Meisterfälscher Wolfgang Beltracchi spricht mit Petra Lossen

The journey continues. We take a small leap and skip Beltracchi's time in Amsterdam and push back a little. Because we're really in the mood for art and artists. Today you can hear how Wolfgang began to discover the first artists for his painting, who they were and how he proceeded in the early days.

Wolfgang's time as an adolescent at the Werkkunstschule. We talk about his life in the garden house and the three most important things in his life (at least at that time): Drugs, women and cake. And we find out how Wolfgang's conversation with Joseph Beuys went.

What happened in the Summer of Love? Right, it's all about sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. But not only that. We also talk about the very first beginnings of painting in the handwriting of other painters, but also about how he learnt about the human body with all its bones and muscles and how they move. He even went to an anatomical institute or a slaughterhouse to learn how to draw parts of bodies.

Wolfgang machte ja wirklich die verrücktesten Sachen. Mit Richy auf dem Weg nach Barjac schaute er sich das Max Ernst Haus an um dann in die nächste irrwitzige Geschichte hinein zu stolpern: sie setzten ein ganzes Chateau unter Wasser. Wir erfahren, wie er in eigenartige Geschäfte mit dubiosen Gestalten der ehemaligen DDR verwickelt wurde und sogar dereinst ein Holzspielzeug für Contergan-geschädigte Kinder baute.
