Jinjer: In conversation - Duél, two world tours and a hellish Hellfest
"We were evolving as musicians and we started to be more and more thoughtful about our music. Our approach is that the music itself tells a story. Even without vocals, it is self-sufficient. There is a plot, a musical plot in every composition, so we just create the vibe, the atmosphere through music. And then Tatiana listens and writes the story."Jinjer's latest studio album Duél takes inspiration from 19th century aristocratic France to deliver a punch to the gut and a call to introspection. Despite their signature approach to progressive deathcore, there is much about the album that invited self-reflection. Join Eugene Abdukhanov, bass player in Jinjer, and Ruxandra Mîndru of MJB as they delve into the themes and writing process of Duél, as well as the packed world tour both behind and ahead of the Ukrainian band.
