Postpartum Care: Finding the Right Postpartum Doula for Your Family
In this episode, I sit down with Kristen Smith to talk about postpartum doulas and postpartum support during the early days of parenthood.
We discuss finding the right postpartum doula for your family’s needs and what that process can look like when you’re navigating postpartum support after birth. Kristen shares what postpartum doulas do on a day-to-day basis, how they support newborn care, and the different types of postpartum support they can offer during the fourth trimester. During the interview, we talked about the signs that it may be time to seek additional postpartum support and what that can look like for new moms as they adjust to life with a newborn.
Throughout our conversation, we also share personal stories from our own postpartum experiences and journeys as new moms. We talk about some of the challenges we faced, the lessons we learned, and the support that helped us along the way.
As you prepare for your baby’s arrival or adjust to life after birth, this conversation offers support and encouragement. It is meant to help you feel confident, supported, and excited about your postpartum journey.
Tune in to learn how postpartum doulas can support you during the journey of postpartum.

    About Kristin Smith
Kristin Smith is the founder of Well Supported Family, a newborn care and postpartum support agency with a national presence that connects families with experienced caregivers during the early stages of parenthood. She began her career as a professional nanny, and in 2008, she was named Nanny of the Year by Family Helpers, and the following year she was selected as a finalist for ABC’s America’s Supernanny.
After becoming a mother herself at just 19, Kristin experienced firsthand how emotional and demanding the postpartum period can be, and how critical it is for parents to feel supported during that time. Motivated by that experience, she trained as a birth and postpartum doula in 2009 and then founded Nightingale Night Nurses in 2015. She later expanded the agency nationally, rebranded to Well Supported Family, and has since grown into a multi-million dollar agency, serving thousands of families per year in 14 states and counting.
Kristin also serves as Executive Director of the Newborn Care Specialist Association, where she supports initiatives around education, certification, professional standards, and industry regulation.

The Benefits of Craniosacral Therapy for First-Time Moms with Dr. Jaclyn
In this episode, Dr. Jaclyn Rabito shares what craniosacral therapy really looks like for first-time moms during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. We talk about how this gentle therapy supports the nervous system, helps moms manage stress and tension, and encourages healing during one of the biggest transitions in motherhood.
We also discuss what to expect during sessions, how often moms may benefit from therapy, and common signs that your body may need extra support.
Tune in to learn how craniosacral therapy may support relaxation, emotional wellness, and postpartum recovery while helping moms feel more connected to their bodies again and why maternal healing deserves more open and honest conversations.

    About Dr. Jaclyn Rabito
Dr. Jaclyn Rabito is a physical therapist who works with people across all stages of life, helping moms return to their routines while also treating their children. She originally began her career in pediatrics, but after many moms started asking for support themselves, her work naturally expanded into pelvic floor therapy. After helping one mom through her own recovery journey, Dr. Rabito pursued specialized pelvic health training — and the rest is history.
Her passion for this work is deeply personal. During college, she became seriously ill and was told she might never walk again. With the support of an incredible physical therapist who believed in her every step of the way, she was able to recover and walk again. That life-changing experience inspired her to dedicate her career to helping others heal and regain confidence in their bodies.
Today, Dr. Rabito helps women navigate pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, postpartum recovery, and more. She is passionate about educating and supporting moms through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond so they feel empowered, informed, and never alone in their healing journey.
