Der Konflikt zwischen Stephan und Mathilda geht über in eine neue Generation, bis Heinrich II. den Thron besteigt und ein gewaltiges Reich aufbaut, welches neue und alte Feinde anlockt. Das Haus Plantagenet ist in England angekommen, obwohl auch der König lernen wird sich vor der Geißelung der Kirche zu hüten.
