www.koasports.com.au - It’s a stacked weekend of IRONMAN and 70.3 racing across the world, with the 70.3 World Championships in Nice, France taking centre stage. No better time to have super coach Caroline Steffen Murray, a 40 x 70.3 and IRONMAN Champion on the pod to chat all things racing and stories.
In Australia is the IRONMAN 70.3 Sunshine Coast, with a big Koa Sports team set to open the Oceania 26/27 season, and in Asia 70.3 Da Li and IRONMAN Japan…. Wow!
Some ripping take aways from this episode, not just a blow by blow course description and boring strava segment chat.

www.koasports.com.au - Nicola Wadey and Tom Upton are on the Road to Kona in 2026. Nicola is a 6 x IRONMAN & 70.3 AG Champion and has been working with Koa since 2019, Tom has won his AG multiple times and juggles emergency services shift work with an appetite for solid training! In 2025 at IRONMAN Western Sydney, they shared the top step both taking out the 35-39 AG titles.
For Nic, this will be her second time to Kona (2022), and Tom his first, having both qualified at IRONMAN Busselton in 2025, uniquely both athletes have rejected Kona slots in the past.
You’d have it all wrong if you think it comes easy and their performances are linear, from DNF’s to DNS’s and race destroying mechanicals.
Based in Melbourne, find out what not only their ‘road to kona’ has been like, but AG endurance sports for the past 6-7 years.
