Andy makes his triumphant return this week to bring to a close a celebration of 20 years of Metroid Prime Hunters. The gang are discussing what a modernized redo of the Hunters concept would look like, from having set levels with objectives versus a traditional Metroid Prime-style singleplayer campaign, to removing elements that felt awkwardly forced into a FPS such as scanning, to rotating each level between a different Hunter, to introducing counter-operative multiplayer! The Metroid Prime Hunters twentieth anniversary celebration continues! On this episode, Doom is joined by Dak, along with special guest Pete "SPIRE_FAN" Grigsby, to definitively rank EVERY SINGLE multiplayer arena from Metroid Prime Hunters. Quite the undertaking at a 2 hour+ runtime, but one the gang is more than happy to take on! Metroid Prime Hunters turns twenty tomorrow on March 20th, 2026! That's a crazy sentance to type out, but it's true! In fact, there's lots of Metroid anniversaries coming up this year, but it all starts here with Hunters! To kick off the celebration on this episode, we're doing a thorough retrospective on the vast history of Metroid Prime Hunters with help from special guest Pete "SPIRE_FAN" Grigsby, arguably the biggest Metroid Prime Hunters fan in the Alimbic Cluster! We discuss everything from the reveal of the title at Nintendo's E3 2004 press conference, the First Hunt demo packed in with launch window Nintendo DS units, and of course the full game along with the impacts its made for both ourselves and gaming as a whole.
