We Like D&D

In this episode, we share our first Show & Tell items of the month, that include a homebrew Paladin subclass inspired by Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”, a “The Bear”-inspired TTRPG played in real time to mimic the stress of working in a kitchen, and a solo RPG that allows you to create playlists as a radio show host – and you might even get to hear your playlist on the game creator’s real radio show! We also start to build out our cozy campaign characters (that might both be artificers?), and end the episode with a very silly round of 2 DMs 1 Player. Is this the best character Kelly’s ever come up with? And will we ever see him again? Only time will squirt… I mean, tell.

We also play a game of Fantasy Fantasy Draft, with a listener submitted prompt: prepping and running a TTRPG. Finally, we cap this episode off with a round of 2 DMs 1 Player where Alec tries to find an outfit for a rat who may or may not be his friend (we’re still unsure).

In this episode, Kelly tries REALLY hard to get Sly Flourish on the show with his show & tell item (which might be Sly-related). We also share a one-page game that encourages you to get outside, and the world’s teeniest-tiniest TTRPG inspired by The Borrowers. Then we spend some time planning out a cozy adventure setting for our next actual play, including the location, some NPCs, and some town traditions. Finally, we wrap things up with a game of 2 DMs 1 Player where Kelly gets to play an unemployed raccoon wearing a fedora, a belt, and nothing else.

In this episode, we share our final Show & Tell items of the month: Unearthed Arcana rules for introducing sidekicks in 5e, a free TTRPG one shot where you play as penguins attempting a heist, and a 5e tier one adventure where you have to uncover the criminal conspiracy behind a drug called Goblin Bathwater. We also share some things we’ve been enjoying in our non-D&D lives (if you can believe it!), and finish off the episode by creating some c-c-cool combos, including interesting multi-class options to maximize your Thunder damage and a one-two punch of spells that might make your DM put their head in their hands and sigh heavily.
