Trump Calls AI Danger a HOAX, Newsom’s Stunning 2028 Pledge, and McConnell RETURNS

    15.09.2026 | 32 Min.
Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov start with one of the biggest campaign issues of the midterm cycle. Trump is calling the idea that AI could destroy humanity a "hoax" like climate change, arguing the only guardrails needed are a "STRONG AND SMART (HIGH IQ!) PRESIDENT." Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is aligning with Trump, taking a live call from the president during a podcast taping. Meanwhile, former President Obama is calling on Democrats to move AI oversight to the top of their agenda, and even Elon Musk is asking for more industry oversight. AI stocks have been falling amid mounting safety warnings. Is the bubble bursting?

Looking ahead to 2028: California Governor Gavin Newsom told CNN's Jake Tapper that if Kamala Harris decides to run again, he'll stand down. Does this reflect a genuine lack of momentum for the 2028 field — or top-notch political maneuvering?

Finally, Senator Mitch McConnell returned to the Senate yesterday to cast his first vote after 13 weeks of absence following his hospitalization in mid-June. The 84-year-old Kentucky Republican offered little explanation for the extended absence, which generated intense speculation over his health all summer.

50 Days to Midterms: Trump DOWNPLAYS the AI Apocalypse (ft. Dana Bash)

    14.09.2026 | 45 Min.
Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov are joined by Dana Bash — CNN's chief political correspondent, anchor of Inside Politics and State of the Union, and author of the new book The Elections That Changed the World: Fifteen Pivotal Moments That Shaped How We Live — available September 22nd.

They begin with the midterm landscape, 50 days out. A new poll has Democrats leading Republicans 42% to 30% in enthusiasm to vote — a significant gap. Scott, Jessica, and Dana talk about whether Dems can keep this momentum into November, and whether Mitch McConnell will finally return to Congress now that it's back in session.

Anthropic's CEO called for a slowdown in AI development over the weekend, and a new and unlikely alliance has emerged. Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon are teaming up to advocate for a slowdown in AI development — making opposition to generative AI, Big Tech, and data center buildout among the starkest bipartisan issues of our era. Dana breaks down how growing fears about AI and the data center backlash are shaping the midterm political landscape.

Then, Dana's new book. The Elections That Changed the World looks at fifteen elections across history — from Julius Caesar in ancient Rome, all the way to the modern era — that fundamentally shape how we live today. She explains what makes these elections — and any election — truly consequential, how much of our modern political dysfunction has roots in much earlier moments, and which election had consequences most radically different from what voters thought they were choosing at the time.

They close with the question: is there room for anyone in the center now?

Trump’s Desperate $5,000 Bribe to Save the GOP Could Blow Up in His Face

    10.09.2026 | 55 Min.
Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov mark Raging Moderates' two-year anniversary with a packed episode on one of the most significant news days of the year.

On the eve of the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks — and the one-year mark since the Charlie Kirk assassination — Trump and the GOP gathered for night one of the first-ever RNC midterm convention. Trump used the stage to make a remarkable promise: a $5,000 "Trump dividend" for every American adult if Republicans hold onto Congress.

Scott and Jess break down night one, react to the surprise cameo by Democratic Sen. John Fetterman, and weigh in on James Talarico doing counter-programming on Fox News, where the Democratic hope of Texas reversed some of his past controversial positions.

Also, it’s the two-year anniversary of the launch of Raging Moderates. Scott and Jess revisit some takes from their very first episode. Two years in, how are they feeling about the show and where America stands compared to where it was when they started?

And finally: Tomorrow marks 25 years since 9/11. Scott and Jess pause to reflect on the experience of living through that harrowing day. And for Jessica, this tragedy struck very close to home, as she speaks about openly and vulnerably here.

Trump’s GOP Is in Full Panic As Republicans Flee His Convention Flop

    09.09.2026 | 33 Min.
The first-ever GOP midterm convention is underway in Dallas, and a number of high-profile Republicans, particularly those in battleground territory, are notably skipping it. The party has even been offering free tickets to help fill seats, at a moment when Trump's approval rating is at an all-time low and oil hits $100 a barrel amid escalating chaos in the Middle East. Trump is competing with NFL kickoff and insisting the American Airlines Center is "totally sold out." What will the vibes be like on the ground, and more importantly - what will ratings look like? Plus, why Aaron thinks the midterms will be closer races than polls would suggest.

This week marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is releasing more than 170,000 pages of city records documenting the government's response to the attacks and their aftermath, launching the city's first public portal dedicated to 9/11 records. But controversy surrounds the commemoration: former Mayor Rudy Giuliani says he doesn't want Mamdani at Friday's ceremony, and Trump falsely claimed that firefighters carried him away from the site after the attacks. Aaron and Jessica break down the commentary around Mamdani, how people are grappling with the tension between honoring families' grief and holding the city accountable, and reflecting on how history repeats itself.

New disclosures show Trump gave three young White House staffers $45,000 each as Christmas gifts — including executive assistant Natalie Harp, who is rarely more than a few feet from the president. A former White House ethics lawyer says the payments may violate federal law. The White House insists they were simply holiday gifts. Is this generosity — or a serious ethical and legal problem?

A senior Anthropic researcher has publicly stated he believes there is more than a 10% chance AI could kill all humans within the next decade — and he's not alone, with several Anthropic researchers now warning publicly that AI could become uncontrollable. Are we actually on track for an AI apocalypse?

Plus, Jess and Aaron take listener questions.

The Canada Trade War Might Actually Cost Trump More Than It Costs Canada

    08.09.2026 | 47 Min.
Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov break down a packed Tuesday, starting with the news that Canada's counter-tariffs are officially in effect — and Trump is escalating rather than negotiating. In recent days he has threatened to bar Bombardier from the U.S. market unless it builds there, accused Canada of blocking American banks and companies while benefiting from American customers, and floated ending all trade with Canada entirely. How does this end?

The Republican National Committee is holding its first-ever midterm national convention this week. Unlike a presidential nominating convention, there is no party business or nominations, which means it's shaping up to be a two-night Trump rally. Scott and Jess break down what to expect from the event, and why Democrats aren't hosting something similar. Is it a missed opportunity?

An Israeli newspaper is reporting that Prime Minister Netanyahu was personally warned by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed that Hamas was planning a major offensive roughly ten days before the October 7, 2023 attack. What implications does this have for the ongoing conflict in the region today?

It has now been three months since Mitch McConnell was last present in the Senate. Will Republicans start publicly demanding he resign — and what happens to his seat if he does?

Plus, the Trump administration has proposed a new child care subsidy that would let married couples in certain income brackets collect money if one parent stays home — funded by redirecting money from the $12 billion Child Care and Development Fund, which was created to help low and moderate income parents work or attend school. The program currently provides about $9,000 per child per year. Who benefits from this proposal — and who gets left out?
