Spider-Noir may be one of the strangest Spider-Man adaptations ever made... and somehow, it works.
Going into Spider-Noir, our expectations were fairly modest. A noir detective series starring a version of Spider-Man sounded interesting on paper, but we weren't sure how successfully the show would balance classic superhero action with old-school detective storytelling. After finishing the series, we were pleasantly surprised by just how much we enjoyed it.
In this episode of SuperHero Homies, we give our full spoiler-filled review of Spider-Noir, discussing the story, performances, visuals, action sequences, comic book inspirations, noir influences, and why this series stands out in today's crowded superhero landscape.

FULL SPOILER REVIEW
After the cold open, we jump into a deep spoiler discussion of Spider-Noir.
Topics include:
• Ben Reilly's portrayal and character arc
• The incredible black-and-white presentation
• The equally impressive color version of the series
• The show's noir detective atmosphere
• How Spider-Noir balances crime drama and superhero storytelling
• The cast and standout performances
• Classic Spider-Man characters reimagined through a noir lens
• Favorite episodes and moments
• The show's biggest strengths and weaknesses
• Inconsistent power scaling and character abilities
• Plot threads that deserved more development
• What a potential second season could explore
One of the biggest surprises of the series is just how committed it is to the noir genre. Rather than simply placing Spider-Man in a different visual setting, Spider-Noir fully embraces detective storytelling, mystery, suspense, crime, corruption, and classic noir aesthetics while still delivering the comic book action fans expect.
While we don't think the show is perfect, we absolutely loved its visual style, strong performances, unique atmosphere, and willingness to take creative risks. In an era where superhero stories can sometimes feel repetitive, Spider-Noir manages to carve out its own identity and offer something genuinely different.
If you're a fan of Spider-Man, Marvel Comics, detective stories, superhero television, comic book adaptations, Daredevil, Marvel Studios, noir films, crime dramas, or pop culture discussions, this episode is for you.
