The power of 'NO!'
It isn't easy, saying 'No'. Especially if you are young, new in a team and feel the need to make a good impression, you'll accept nearly anything. But if you aren't careful you end up with exactly what you wanted to avoid: missed deadlines, disappointed colleagues and angry customers. And maybe, a burnout with permanent damage to your health, reputation and self esteem. So, how do you learn to say 'no' successfully? I explore this question with Joao Pereira and Ines Sobreira, both starting their Siemens careers, and Fernando Silva CEO for Siemens Portugal. To help me I also invited Lisa Stromberger, part of the MyGrowth Coaching team who has a background in psychology and cognitive behavioral science. So, if you want to understand the importance of being able to say 'no', and also how to do it, listen in!

What's the REAL issue?
True story : my client had everything. She was successful at work, respected as a manager, popular with her team, healthy relationship at home - but she told me it left her feeling unfulfilled so she wanted to work on how to get the next promotion, then it would be all okay. For some reason, I wasn't convinced, so I asked her:"Ignoring all of society's expectations, what career would you like to have had?"She hesitated, then finally said: "A hairdresser. I'd love to have been a hairdresser. I'm missing the possibility to be creative in my work."Clients often bring an obvious topic to a session, but the real issue is hidden. So, how can the coach uncover the REAL topic that needs to be addressed? To discuss this, I invited Heidi Reimer from the coaching organisation HR Akademie to explain what coaches need to do to make sure they work on the cause, not just the symptom, in a coaching session.

How do you coach a company?
Nina Eichholz has always been a rather unusual coach. First of all, she is somebody who changed the coaching landscape within the technology company Siemens by setting up the Grow2Glow grassroots coaching initiative there. The initiative helps women develop their careers with the support of trained internal coaches. Secondly, she has successfully transferred her coaching skills from coaching individuals, to coaching entire organisations. As a consultant for modern organisational development she helps them examine their why, how and what so as to become the best version of themselves. In this interview, I explore with Nina how this works and how a background in Systemic Business Coaching has helped her.

Coaching and AI
Can ChatGPT coach you? All of us have probably turned to ChatGPT to ask a personal question or two since it took the world by storm at the end of 2022. But could you use ChatGPT (or any other AI tool) to carry out a proper coaching session? Stefanie Düll has a Masters degree in coaching and consulting and wrote her master's thesis on the topic of AI and coaching. In this interview she talks about an experiment she conducted with ChatGPT to see how well it could apply a particular coaching tool. Listen and find out how coaches can sensibly integrate AI into their repertoire of techniques to support their clients.A copy of the prompts developed by Stefanie is available to download as PDF.
What happens when you get yourself a business coach? In this podcast I talk to people about how coaching has helped them maximize their personal and career development, and to professional coaches about how coaching works.
