Resilience: reacting to COVID-19, adapting to the day-to-day and finding strength
This episode was recorded in March 2020, after the government imposed lockdown in the UK. Ann Skidmore is a management and leadership coach with over 20 years' experience. She has achieved an MBA, qualified as an NLP Coach and became the Managing Director of her own company when her daughter, Abigail turned 1. They have lived in each other's pockets but been on opposite trajectories. One through: motherhood, professional work and development. The other, through: school, university, graduation and her first full-time job. Now, their paths converge as they find new ways to create and thrive in the aftershock of a pandemic. This episode looks at resilience and our human response to crises. How do we cope with loneliness and isolation? Who should we reach out to beyond our homes? Ann offers some top tips and thoughts to answer these overwhelming questions.
Listen in on conversations between a mother and daughter as they adjust to a new 'normal' together, at home. What can we learn from each other's experiences and emotions? How do we create boundaries which support us? How do we talk it through with someone living under the same roof?
