Migrantische Unternehmer:innen aus dem Balkan prägen seit vielen Jahren das Wiener Stadtbild. Im Gastro-Bereich tragen sie zur kulinarischen Vielfalt der Stadt bei und haben sich als wesentliche wirtschaftliche Akteure etabliert. Doch wie geht es ihnen als Projektionsfläche oftmals widersprüchlicher Integrationserwartungen und wie navigieren sie zwischen unterschiedlichen (Küchen-)Kulturen? Nadine Thielemann, Professorin für Interkulturelle Kommunikation an der WU Wien und affiliierte Forscherin am FORM hat das in einer aktuellen Studie untersucht.

We also explore Jesus’ own experience as a migrant in Austria and why arriving in the mid-1990s meant a true culture shock for him.
