In 1975, Wurtsmith Air Force Base near Lake Huron became the site of a chilling series of events tied to the wider “nuclear UFO flap” of the era. It began quietly one night when a sentry stationed at a gatehouse felt the forest around him fall unnaturally silent. In the distance, he saw a large, unlit craft hovering with surgical precision. It was sharp-edged, reflective under the moon, and gave off a cold, heavy atmosphere. His radio filled with a strange, unfamiliar static—jamming his call for help—just before the object shot off into the night sky.That same night, a flight crew on a routine training mission encountered a silent, black craft that appeared directly above them without warning. It shadowed their every maneuver effortlessly before vanishing into the stars. A truck driver on a nearby road also reported a blinding blue-white glow in the woods. His truck stalled, strange humanoid figures emerged from the trees, and he later awoke miles away, disoriented and cold, with fragmented memories of a metallic room and shadowy beings.Inside the base, systems began to fail.
